Cookie Policy
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit websites. We also use localStorage, a similar browser technology, for storing your preferences. This policy covers both.
What cookies we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
dc_cookie_consent | Necessary | Stores your cookie consent preference (accepted/rejected). Required for the consent banner to function. | Persistent (localStorage) |
dc_theme | Functional | Remembers your dark/light mode preference so the site loads in your chosen theme. | Persistent (localStorage) |
| Analytics (future) | Analytics (opt-in) | Anonymized page view data to improve the site. Only set with your consent. | Session / 1 year |
| Google AdSense (future) | Advertising (opt-in) | Personalized or contextual advertising when AdSense is enabled. Only set with your consent. | Up to 13 months |
Strictly necessary cookies
The dc_cookie_consent key stored in localStorage is strictly necessary — it records your preference so we don't show the consent banner on every page load. It cannot be disabled without breaking the consent mechanism.
Analytics cookies
If you accept analytics cookies, we may collect anonymized data about which pages you visit and how long you spend on them. We do not link this data to any individual. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Reject optional" on the banner, or clearing your browser's local storage.
Advertising cookies
We plan to apply for Google AdSense to fund the site. If approved, and only if you have accepted advertising cookies, Google may set cookies to show relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com.
How to manage your preferences
You can update your cookie consent at any time:
You can also delete cookies and localStorage through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear browsing data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data
Third-party cookies
Our hosting provider Cloudflare may set technical cookies for DDoS protection and performance. These are strictly necessary. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
